‘Without nature, look where we’ve ended up’ – Front Ħarsien ODZ

Front Harsien ODZ is today carrying out a symbolic action to draw the public’s attention to the problem of diminishing natural land in Malta. Activists are holding a picnic on roundabouts next to a slogan reading “Without nature, look where we’ve ended up”. Malta is, by far, the country with most built-up areas in the EU – 33% compared to the EU average of 5% (Eurostat 2012). Yet, ODZ land continues to face the constant threat of development through unsustainable projects such as that of Sadeen’s institute.

Front Harsien ODZ is thus reiterating its stance against development on ODZ land and in favour of protecting the people’s right to nature.

‘Bla Natura, Ara Fejn Ġibtuna’ – Front Ħarsien ODZ

Il-Front Ħarsien ODZ qed jagħmel azzjoni simbolika sabiex jiġbed l attenzjoni tal-pubbliku dwar il-fatt li l-ispazji naturali f’Malta qegħdin dejjem jiċkienu. Attivisti qed jagħmlu picnic f’roundabouts maġenb il-kliem “Bla Natura Ara Fejn Ġibtuna”. Malta huwa l-iktar pajjiż mibni fl-Unjoni Ewropeja – 33% ikkumparat mal-medja ta’ 5% fl-UE (Eurostat 2012). Iżda, minkejja dan, l-art ODZ tibqa’ taffaċja theddida kontinwa minn żviluppi mhux sostenibbli bħal dak tal-istitut ta’ Sadeen.

Għalhekk, il-Front Ħarsien ODZ qed itenni il-pożizzjoni tiegħu kontra żvilupp fuq art ODZ u favur li jiġi mħares id-dritt li n-nies igawdu n-natura.
